Evander Kane: (Knee) Set To Miss Two Weeks

Coach Paul Maurice said Saturday that Kane (knee) would be reevaluated after two weeks, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

Analysis:

The Jets were bracing for the worst after Kane took the brunt of a nasty collision with linemate Mark Scheifele in Thursday's opener, but Maurice sounded relieved by the prognosis. Even if he's cleared to resume skating in two weeks, Kane will probably need to get at least a couple of practices in before he returns to the lineup, so in total, it could be three weeks before he appears in a game, at minimum. The Jets will move Dustin Byfuglien from the third-line right wing spot to Kane's left-wing spot on the second line in the interim.
