DeAngelo is drawing comparisons to former Lightning defender, Dan Boyle, according to the Tampa Bay Times. "You hate to compare the great players to the up-and-coming players because sometimes it's very unfair," said assistant coach, George Gwozdecky, who just happened to recruit Boyle to Miami (Ohio) in the mid 90s. "But certainly, some of the qualities you see in Anthony, his ability to be able to transition the puck and see the ice and make plays, they're all there."

Analysis:

You'd think Gwozdecky would know what he's talking about when it comes to drawing this comp. DeAngelo held his own in his first NHL exhibition game Friday, playing 13:40 and finishing plus-1. At 5-11 and 173, this right-shooting QB-type just needs time to develop and get stronger. He reads the game well already, so dynasty leaguers need to roster him soon.
