Adam was one of 11 players cut by the Sabres on Friday.

Analysis:

Unless Adam puts together an exceptional season, this could very well be his last season with Buffalo. The second-round pick from 2008 has size, strength and goal-scoring skill, but still hasn't been able to put it all together. His inconsistency is maddening. Adam signed a one-year extension over the summer and will be a restricted free agent at the end of the contract, but with the Sabres' deep pool of prospects they may not retain his rights. Adam has scored 44 goals in the AHL over the past two years but has just two goals in 16 games for the Sabres during that time.
