Updating a previous report, the Canes are more in favor of keeping Lindholm on the wing, instead of moving him to the No. 2 center spot in place of the injured Jordan Staal, according to Luke DeCock of the Raleigh News & Observer.

Analysis:

While Lindholm may still see some time at the center position, the Canes feel moving him there full time will leave them weaker on the wings, where they have even fewer options. The plan instead - at least initially - will be to move third-line center Riley Nash into Staal's spot on the second line, and also give rookie Victor Rask a look anchoring the third unit.
