Analysis:

Although coach Mike Babcock presumed that Helm would be sufficiently recovered by Thursday from the broken nose he sustained three days earlier, the veteran forward may need an extra day or two to get over the issue. The Red Wings are still treating him as if he's day-to-day, but the injury doesn't sound like something that will keep him out of commission for much longer.
