Report: London Knights to retire Dave Bolland's #91 in October

The OHL's London Knights will retire Florida Panthers center Dave Bolland's #91 in a game against Connor McDavid's Erie Otters scheduled for Oct. 15, according to a report from London Free Press Knights beat writer Ryan Pyette. 

The game is well scheduled for Bolland, whose Panthers have three days off between a game in Ottawa on Oct. 13 and a game in Buffalo on Oct. 17. So hopefully the gritty checking center will be able to imbibe several well deserved sodas on the 16th.

The two-time Stanley Cup winning forward appeared in 254 games with the London Knights from 2002-2006, and recorded 135 goals and 299 points in a Knights uniform. The 28-year-old led the Knights to a Memorial Cup in 2005 and in 2006 led the OHL in regular season scoring with an astounding 130 points in just 59 games.

Bolland's #91 will become the eighth number to hang from the rafters at Budweiser Gardens, joining the likes of Rob Ramage, Dino Ciccarelli, Daryl Sittler, Brendan Shanahan, Brad Marsh, Rick Nash and Corey Perry.
