Ducks re-sign Silfverberg to 1-year, $850K contract

Kirby Lee / USA Today

According to CapGeek, the Anaheim Ducks have re-signed forward Jakob Silfverberg for a surprisingly reasonable amount.

Swedish news site expressen.se is also reporting the deal, which is actually for less than the $900,000 NHL salary Silfverberg earned in the final year of his entry-level contract.

The Ducks officially announced the signing via Twitter on Friday.

Silfverberg, 23, recorded 23 points in 52 games in his first season with the Ducks after registering 19 points in 48 games as a rookie with the Ottawa Senators. He was traded to Anaheim as part of the deal that sent Bobby Ryan to Ottawa.

Silfverberg missed significant time early last season due to a broken hand.
