Stars sign Eaves to 1-year contract

The Dallas Stars added some depth to their team with the signing of forward Patrick Eaves, general manager Jim Nill announced Tuesday.

The 30-year-old - drafted 29th overall by the Ottawa Senators in 2003 - split 2013-14 between the Nashville Predators and Detroit Red Wings, scoring two goals and adding three assists.

In 444 career games, he registered 74 goals and 72 assists.
