Alex Tanguay expected to miss fifth straight game with knee injury

Colorado Avalanche forward Alex Tanguay is expected to miss his fifth straight game on Saturday because of a knee injury, according to the Denver Post.

Tanguay was sidelined for 36 games because of a hip injury this fall and returned on January 24 to play in three-of-four contests, before being forced out of the lineup again.

Adrian Dater believes Tanguay's injury isn't serious and there is a good chance he will return when Colorado resumes play after the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The Avs travel to Long Island to face the Islanders on Saturday, where they'll try and end a two-game losing skid before the Olympic break.
