Report: Capitals getting outdoor game, possibly Winter Classic

The Washington Capitals announced on Wednesday that they were set to make a "major announcement" regarding the franchise. It now appears that announcement will be about an outdoor hockey game involving the team for the 2014-15 season.

According to Capitals' beat writer, Sky Kerstein, the team is set to make the announcement at their fan convention on Saturday and that the announcement will, indeed, be about an outdoor game. 

But what kind of outdoor game? Well, Kerstein has an answer for that as well.

The Capitals would likely hold the game at FedEx Field (home of the Washington Redskins) or at Nationals Stadium (home of the Washington Nationals).
