Brian Leetch, Patrick Burke join NHL department of player safety
Brendan Shanahan's right-hand man, former defenceman Rob Blake, left the league office to join the Los Angeles Kings brain trust this summer. So the NHL needed someone to fill that role.

In addition to Rob Blake, the NHL is also reportedly adding the former head of You Can Play to the Department of Player Safety brain trust:
Patrick Burke stepped down this week as face of You Can Play, remaining in organization. A former scout, he wanted to get back into hockey.
