Kings' Anze Kopitar: Finishing season hot after sluggish start

Kopitar set up all three Los Angeles goals in a 3-2 overtime win over Chicago on Saturday.

Analysis:

Kopitar has eight points in his last nine games and 19 in his last 21. Unfortunately, that's 40 percent of his overall scoring. Kopitar's 33 points in his first 54 games put him, his owners and the Kings behind the proverbial eight ball this season. This was Kopitar's worst offensive season in the NHL, so more likely that it's the outlier and not a new norm. He should come cheaper next season and that means real value.
