Capitals' Braden Holtby: Drawing start with Presidents' Trophy in sight

Holtby will start in goal Wednesday night against the visiting Rangers, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports.

Analysis:

Holtby gets the nod with Philipp Grubauer having defeated the Maple Leafs on Tuesday and the Capitals aspiring to clinch the Presidents' Trophy; they need just one point to do so for the second consecutive season. Holtby's 2.11 GAA and .924 save percentage are some of the best peripherals in his career, though his personal win rate is down roughly five percent compared to his legendary 2015-16 Vezina Trophy campaign.
