Flames' Brian Elliott: Sees winning streak end in D.C.

Elliott gave up four goals on 40 shots in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Washington.

Analysis:

He put forth a strong effort in net, but Elliott nonetheless saw his 11-game winning streak come to an end. It was quite a spectacular stretch, featuring a 1.70 GAA and .942 save mark -- and yet Elliott's season stats remain mediocre, a reflection of his inconsistency this season. Let's not forget the shortcomings of Calgary's defense either. Consider Elliott an eminently playable but by no means elite goalie down the stretch.
