Rather nasty.

Carolina Hurricanes forward Jeff Skinner made good on a penalty shot Monday, deking the pads off New York Islanders goalie Thomas Greiss before finishing on his backhand.

It was his second goal of the game and 23rd of the season.

The goal was the 11th on the night in Brooklyn, which put the 'Canes up 7-4. Carolina eventually won 8-4, in what was a huge loss for the Isles, who have been dominant on home ice.

Carolina was down 3-2 at one point in the second period, before exploding for four goals in five minutes.

Rematch on Tuesday in Raleigh, in what's another massive game for the Islanders.
