Devils' Cory Schneider: Loses to league's worst
Schneider gave up three goals on 22 shots and suffered a loss at the hands of the Avalanche on Thursday.
Analysis:
Colorado has been the league's punching bag this year, but sometimes the punching bag punches back. Indeed, even facing the Avs and their NHL-low 39 points entering play Thursday wasn't enough to pull Schneider out of his ongoing swoon, which has seen him take seven straight losses (two in overtime) -- a stretch in which he has a mere .902 save percentage. There was a period of time from early January into February when Schneider was looking like his old self again, but this stretch has erased the hopes he raised with that positive run.
