Devils' Cory Schneider: Defending crease Thursday

Schneider will patrol the blue paint for Thursday night's game in Washington, Chris Ryan of NJ.com reports.

Analysis:

Recent history hasn't been kind to Schneider -- the Massachusetts native has lost his last three starts, once in regulation and twice in overtime, recording a 3.27 GAA and .896 save percentage over that span. Interestingly, this will be the fourth and final time the Devils and Capitals will play each other this season, but just the first time that Schneider has started against Washington. He looked good in a relief effort on Jan. 26, saving all 18 shots he faced, so he'll have to bring his A game again against a hot team that has won three of its last four, scoring 12 goals during that time.
