Kings' Ben Bishop: Will dress as backup Monday

Bishop (illness) will be available as the backup to Jonathan Quick on Monday against the Wild, NHL.com reports.

Analysis:

This will be Bishop's first time suiting up as a member of the Kings following his trade from Tampa Bay on Sunday. Coach Daryl Suter hinted that Bishop will share the net with Quick a fair amount. "Jonathan Quick can't play every game," he said. "He has a long-term contract, which means you want him to fulfill that contract and be a healthy player." Indeed, having Quick healthy will be vital as LA tries to squeak its way into playoff position, but he seems to be on an even playing field with Bishop, who carries a lifetime record of 146-77-23 to go along with a 2.32 GAA and .919 save percentage and 19 career shutouts.
