Canadiens' Jordie Benn: Dealt to Habs

Benn was traded from the Stars to the Canadiens in exchange for Greg Pateryn and a 2017 fourth-round pick Monday, Arpon Basu of LNH.com reports.

Analysis:

The deal splits up the Benn brothers for the first time since Jordie debuted in the NHL in 2011-12. Benn joins the division-leading Canadiens, who are in desperate need of some assistance defensively in front of netminder Carey Price. The biggest boost to the blueliner's value will likely come in the form of his rating, but Benn doesn't contribute enough offensively to warrant ownership in the majority of fantasy leagues.
