Kings' Jeff Carter: Records Gordie Howe hat trick in win

Carter recorded a Gordie Howe hat trick -- goal, assist and fight -- in Saturday's 4-1 victory over the Ducks.

Analysis:

The goal went into the empty net, but it still counts and it gave Carter his first 30-goal season since 2010-11. The fight with Ryan Kesler does make us pause, though -- Kesler landed a right straight to the kisser and it put Carter temporarily down on a knee. Much to our relief, Carter seems none the worse for wear because of the punch.
