Avalanche's Erik Johnson: Expected to return Saturday

Johnson (leg) is expected to play Saturday's game against the Sabres, per coach Jared Bednar.

Analysis:

It's been a long time coming for Johnson and he finally appears ready to return from a 36-game absence after breaking his leg on Dec. 3. The Minnesota native could immediately slot into one of Colorado's top two defensive pairings, though it remains to be seen who his partner will be on the blue line.
