Bruins' Joe Morrow: Beginning conditioning assignment

Morrow was sent to AHL Providence for a conditioning assignment Thursday.

Analysis:

The 2011 first-round pick was a healthy scratch for the Bruins' last 10 games, with the last five coming under interim head coach Bruce Cassidy. That said, Morrow's skill set seemingly fits with how Cassidy wants his defenseman to play: jumping into the rush in transition and trying to provide more offense. It will be intriguing to see whether Morrow will be utilized after his assignment, as there's a chance that an opportunity to play in the new system could lead to him living up to his billing as an offensive defenseman.
