Avalanche's Calvin Pickard: Plays well despite loss

Pickard stopped 30 of 32 shots, but it wasn't enough in a 2-1 loss Tuesday to the visiting Kings.

Analysis:

Despite having only a single win in his last four starts, Pickard has played quite well, recording a save percentage of .940 during that span. The lack of victories doesn't come as a surprise, however, as the Avs have toiled as the lowest-scoring team in the league (1.97 goals per game) for nearly the entire season. Nonetheless, the New Brunswick native now owns a .909 save percentage, 2.88 GAA and 10-19-2 record in what's been his busiest campaign in the NHL (31 starts) to date.
