Blue Jackets' Joonas Korpisalo: Sent to AHL

Korpisalo was demoted to the team's AHL affiliate Monday.

Analysis:

Korpisalo will essentially use Columbus' bye week to tune up his game between the pipes at the minor league level after starting just one of the team's last nine games. It's unlikely his rate of usage will increase with Sergei Bobrovsky ahead of him on the depth chart, but the 22-year-old netminder remains the favorite to take over the primary role should Bobrovsky suffer an injury. He should rejoin the Blue Jackets before Saturday's contest against the Islanders.
