Capitals' John Carlson: Will miss Monday's game

Carlson (lower body) won't play in Monday's tilt against Carolina, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.

Analysis:

The blueliner will miss his fourth straight game, and will also miss Tuesday's contest in Ottawa. He has been a force to be reckoned with on the power play, notching 10 points while averaging 3:07 this season. If he doesn't return Thursday in New Jersey, his next chance will be on Jan. 31 after the All-Star break.
