Canucks' Erik Gudbranson: Will undergo wrist surgery
Gudranson is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair ligament damage to his wrist is out indefinitely, Sportsnet's Irfaan Gaffar reports.
Analysis:
The Canucks moved Gudbranson to injured reserve last week for an undisclosed injury, and now we know why the defenseman was hurting. A better idea of Gudbranson's recovery timetable should become more clear after he undergoes the procedure, but he's likely looking at a multi-week absence, at minimum. The former first-round pick posted six points and a minus-14 rating over 30 games this season, so even before suffering the injury, there was little reason to hang onto him in most fantasy leagues.
