Penguins' Kris Letang: Moves to IR

Letang (lower body) was transferred to injured reserve Saturday.

Analysis:

It's understandable that the Penguins would place the savvy defenseman on IR given that he's considered week-to-week with his injury. As a reinforcement option, Pittsburgh has recalled Chad Ruhwedel from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Still, no one is expecting Ruhwedel to perfectly fit into Letang's skates, as the latter is a three-time NHL All-Star with a pair of Penguins' Defensive Player of the Year awards to his name.
