Lightning's Slater Koekkoek: Sent down to minors
Koekkoek was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Friday.
Analysis:
The Bolts have seven defensemen on the active roster and there was no apparent need for an eighth, so Koekkoek returns to the minors where he'll presumably pick up consistent playing time. He's added four assists in 17 games at the NHL level this season, but the ice time has been paltry at an average of 13:19.
