Rangers' Oscar Lindberg: Not offering much on fourth line

Lindberg has just a single point (an assist) while averaging 10:03 of ice time in 12 games this season, but he could see increased opportunities in the near term due to the Rangers' injuries up front, the New York Post reports.

Analysis:

He's been a healthy scratch fairly frequently of late, but Lindberg did see a spike in ice time Tuesday -- he skated 15:03, collecting two hits and two shots on goal. Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said he's looking for Lindberg "to help us out at both ends of the rink, at faceoffs and killing penalties." The young Swede looked like he had solid fantasy potential at times last season, but his ice time's fallen and he's not even averaging a shot per game, so he'll need to make some magic happen with whatever extra opportunity he receives.
