Jets' Shawn Matthias: On schedule to return

According to coach Paul Maurice, Matthias (lower body) could return to the lineup sometime in December, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

Analysis:

Matthias, who has already sat out 18 games with this ailment, could be out a few more as he works his way back. In his 10 appearances this year, the 28-year-old averaged 11:50 of ice time per night, resulting in three points, 12 shots on goal and seven hits. Once cleared to return, Matthias will likely displace Brandon Tanev from the game-day lineup.
