Stars' Patrick Sharp: Transferred to IR

Sharp (undisclosed) has been moved to injured reserve, retroactive to Dec. 1.

Analysis:

At this point, one can only speculate what has sent Sharp to IR. The veteran winger missed 14 straight games with a concussion before returning to game action Nov. 19, but we won't assume that issue has resurfaced. Curtis McKenzie could be in line to start Saturday against the Avalanche with Sharp unavailable, though he hasn't done much offensively in limited action (three points in 16 games).
