Islanders' Adam Pelech: Lands on injured reserve

The Islanders placed Pelech (upper body) on injured reserve Thursday, retroactive to Monday.

Analysis:

This move was made to make room for Dennis Seidenberg (jaw) on the Isles' active roster, so it isn't necessarily indicative of the severity of Pelech's ailment. The 22-year-old blueliner will be eligible to return from IR in time for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.
