Red Wings' Drew Miller: Ice cold

Miller has been a liability for the Red Wings, as he's on an active 12-game pointless streak with a minus-8 rating in that span.

Analysis:

Miller's extended slump couldn't come at a worse time. Detroit has five forwards on injured reserve, and coach Jeff Blashill has made the bottom-six winger a healthy scratch in three of the past four games despite the Wings desperately needing help up front. Miller is supposed to be earning his paycheck on the penalty kill, but he's frequently getting burned in his own zone and doesn't play enough -- 10:06 average ice time -- to see many offensive opportunities.
