Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Will be designated for IR

Landeskog (lower body) will be placed on injured reserve, according to coach Jared Bednar, Terry Frei of The Denver Post reports.

Analysis:

It seems likely the Avs will use a retroactive designation on Landeskog, which will allow them to activate him as soon as possible. Given this move, it seems unlikely the winger will be available against the Blue Jackets on Thursday. Check back for an update on the 24-year-old's status once he's healthy enough to return.
