Panthers' Roberto Luongo: Set for first start following coaching swap
Luongo will start in goal Tuesday night against host Chicago, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis:
In a controversial move, the Panthers fired coach Gerard Gallant on Sunday, following a loss to the Hurricanes. The Sun Sentinel reports that "inconsistent play and a philosophical divide" between Gallant and the club was the precursor to the canning, but even with a new bench boss in Tom Rowe hired in, there's seemingly been no talk of Luongo and his workload being handled any differently. The 16-year veteran is 8-6-0 on the season to complement a robust 2.20 GAA over 14 starts.
