Senators' Mike Hoffman: Comes back with flair

Hoffman returned from an undisclosed injury to rack up a power-play goal as well as a pair of assists in Tuesday's 4-3 victory over Montreal.

Analysis:

Like many Senators, Hoffman got off to a snail-like start, netting just seven points in his first 16 games (and zero in five coming into Tuesday); he then missed a couple contests to injury. However, he and fellow winger Mark Stone clicked with center Derick Brassard in this one, forming a lethal trio. Considering what Hoffman's done for fantasy owners in the past -- that is, 29 goals and 59 points last year -- there should be high expectations for him to turn things around this season. That .070 shooting percentage is due for positive regression as long as he keeps shooting steadily, which hasn't been a problem thus far.
