Kings' Anze Kopitar: Likely out Tuesday

Kopitar (upper body) will more than likely not play Tuesday night's game in Colorado as he waits for his swelling to subside, but coach Darryl Sutter is hopeful that he will skate Wednesday, Jon Rosen of Fox Sports West reports.

Analysis:

Rosen also notes that Kopitar did not participate in the morning skate Tuesday, which serves as a further indication that he won't play against the Avalanche. The 29-year-old Slovenian's play has regressed recently after his hot start to the season, as he's now posted only two assists in his last eight games. His ice time and shots on goal are still up, though, so he could very well bounce back once he returns from injury.
