Red Wings' Andreas Athanasiou: Scores again in limited action

Athanasiou found twine for the second straight game and added an assist in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Hurricanes.

Analysis:

Athanasiou has been great in limited action over the past two games, scoring his first of the year in 8:44 of ice time against the Sharks before Tuesday's two-point showing in 11:29. The 22-year-old was a standout in juniors (49 goals, 95 points and 52 PIM in 66 games with OHL Barrie in his last season), and his game has translated to the pros adequately (49 points in 83 games for AHL Grand Rapids). That said, Double-A is still adjusting to life at the NHL level after a decent 14-point showing in 37 contests last year, so he's worth keeping an eye on as his role increases with the Wings.
