Sabres' Sam Reinhart: Moves to center

Reinhart will serve as Buffalo's second-line center starting Tuesday, The Buffalo News reports.

Analysis:

A natural center, Reinhart has spent most of his pro career playing on the right wing, but with Jack Eichel (high-ankle sprain) sidelined, the Sabres will move him back to center in the hopes of jumpstarting a struggling offense. Reinhart will center Tyler Ennis and Zemgus Girgensons, marking the first time the trio will play together. Though Reinhart's speed is one of his weaker points, head coach Dan Bylsma believes that having to back check will help him keep his feet moving. Long term, the Sabres envision Reinhart on the right wing, but he should have no problems at center ice. Through four games, Reinhart has just two assists, but should be able to generate plenty of opportunities against Philadelphia, whose 19 goals allowed is second worst in the conference.
