Avalanche's Mikhail Grigorenko: Misses scoresheet for first time Tuesday

After notching power-play assists in the season's first two games, Grigorenko couldn't extend the streak in a 3-0 shutout loss to Washington on Tuesday.

Analysis:

He also saw more action at center, taking faceoffs for the first time this season. Grigorenko is still seeing fairly limited minutes, but he's enjoying steady power-play time on the second unit. We're still waiting for 2012's No. 12 pick to live up to his pedigree, as last year's 27 points represent his high-water mark to this point. The talent is there and he's seeing a decent amount of offensive opportunity, so he should at least be able to build on last season's production -- but a full-on breakout may be too much to ask.
