Kings' Peter Budaj: Perfect in relief Tuesday

Budaj replaced a struggling Jeff Zatkoff in the third period of Tuesday's game against the Wild. He set aside all nine shots he faced in the 6-3 loss.

Analysis:

Budaj has 10 years of NHL experience, which undoubtedly was a factor for the Kings when they recalled him from AHL Ontario last Thursday in the wake of the news that starting netminder Jonathan Quick sustained a lower-body injury and will miss 3-to-4 months. Zatkoff is winless in three appearances, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Budaj get an extended look, perhaps as soon as Thursday against the Stars.
