Rangers' Brandon Pirri: Carries preseason productivity into regular season
Pirri tallied a power-play goal and an even-strength assist despite skating only 10:57 in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Islanders.
Analysis:
That's more than you can ask for from a fourth-line center, but Pirri's no ordinary bottom-sixer -- he has a 22-goal season in the majors and two years of point-per-game production in the AHL on his resume. Those limited minutes will certainly cap his production to some degree, but if holes open up on the Rangers' upper lines, he'll be one of the top candidates to fill them.
