Canadiens' Carey Price: Ruled out for Opening Night

Price (flu) will not travel with the Habs for their Opening Night matchup with the Sabres, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Price has been unable to practice leading up to Thursday's game, and with a capable backup in Al Montoya, there was no reason to rush him back onto the ice in Game 1 of 82. Price could still be ready for Saturday's trip to Ottawa, but owners will want to monitor the situation. Regardless of his availability for these first two contests, the netminder still figures to make more than 60 appearances these season, giving him top-tier fantasy value.
