The 27-year-old appears to have gone from a player who had trouble finding work in the offseason to a top-six role with the Jackets. Gagner's career highs of 18 goals and 47 points were set back in the 2011-2012 campaign, but if he sticks on a line with scorers of the caliber of Saad and Foligno, he could challenge those numbers this year.
