Sabres' Evan Rodrigues: Cut from training camp

Rodrigues was one of 17 players cut from camp, The Buffalo News reports.

Analysis:

Rodrigues was a fixture on Jack Eichel's wing at Boston University, and despite a good showing in two games late in the 2015-16 season, will begin the season with AHL Rochester. He scored nine goals and 30 points in 72 games in his first pro season, and is expected to improve on those numbers in a top-six scoring role. The 22-year-old will serve as one of Buffalo's first call-ups should the need arise.
