Bruins' Zachary Senyshyn: Makes preseason debut Wednesday
Senyshyn -- who missed the Bruins' rookie camp after undergoing an appendectomy -- suited up for Wednesday's 5-1 preseason loss to the Red Wings, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis:
Senyshyn did not record a point in the game, while recording five shots in in 15:03 worth of ice time in his preseason debut, which occurred sooner than originally expected. It's been a taxing offseason for Senyshyn, who also missed the Bruins' Development Camp in July due to a bout with mononucleosis, but the No. 15 overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft indicates that he's past his health woes and thus ready to compete for a spot up front with the big club. With Frank Vatrano out for three months with a foot injury, there is certainly an opportunity for Senyshyn to secure a role with the Bruins, given the speed and scoring upside he brings to the table after racking up 45 goals in 66 games for OHL Sault Ste. Marie last season.
