Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Starts off with bang on new team

Zibanejad exploded for a power-play goal and two assists -- one on the man advantage -- during Tuesday's 5-2 preseason victory over the Islanders.

Analysis:

Well, that didn't take long. Traded by the Senators over the offseason, Zibanejad looked stellar in his debut with the Rangers. While we can't get overly excited about preseason scoring, the 23-year-old was already poised for a breakout, and this type of performance can only help his case. The center amassed 21 goals and 30 assists last season with Ottawa; he'll be asked to shoulder more of the load in New York, leaving owners excited for what's to come in 2016-17.
