Bruins' Brad Marchand: Inks eight-year extension

Marchand signed an eight-year, $49 million contract extension with the Bruins on Monday, Pierre LeBrun of ESPN reports.

Analysis:

Marchand was entering the last year of his contract with Boston, but will add an additional eight campaigns that could result in him becoming a career Bruin. The 28-year-old winger will look to build off a 2015-16 campaign in which he posted career highs in goals (37), points (61) and shots on goal (250).
