Bruins' David Pastrnak: Getting stronger
Joe Haggerty of CSN Boston observes that Pastrnak, who spent a good portion of his offseason in Boston working with the Bruins' strength and conditioning staff, "looks bigger and stronger after a summer devoted primarily to getting bigger, stronger and faster."
Analysis:
Pastrnak is still officially listed as 6-foot, 181-pounds by the Bruins, but since his biggest challenge as a pro remains his ability to withstand the physical rigors of the NHL, it's good to see the 20-year-old bulking up, so as long as he does not sacrifice any speed in the process. With a top-six role likely on tap for Pastrnak this coming season, doubling his 2015-16 numbers (15 goals and 26 points in 51 games) is an attainable target, assuming he avoids missing significant time due to injury.
