Sabres' Evander Kane: Sued by woman

A 21-year-old woman has sued Kane for serious injuries that required multiple surgeries, The Globe and Mail reports.

Analysis:

Kane's summer of seemingly endless legal drama continues, with the woman accusing Kane of inviting her to a party and then attacking her. The documents were filed July 1, and this incident is not related to the non-criminal harassment, disorderly conduct and trespass charges Kane faces from an incident in June. Kane's brushes with the law in Buffalo date back to Dec. 27, when he was accused of sexual assault, but the charges were dropped in March. The Sabres and the NHL will likely let the legal process play itself out before making any sort of decision on Kane's status for the season. The 6-foot-3 power forward scored 20 goals in 65 games this past season for the Sabres and is expected to play a significant top-six role in the upcoming season.
